The Souris Striders Ski Club started in February of 1988 when a core group of people
from eastern P.E.I. started grooming ski trails to enable families to enjoy the great
outdoors while focusing on fitness during the winter months.
Since 1988, the club has experienced very high memberships (495 adults and students in 1991), day passes and activities as well as some years of lesser participation (100 - 150 members).
The Harmony Ski Lodge, a 3,000 sq. ft. building at the trail site owned by Active Communities Inc.forms a base of operations next to the trails for the club.
